Joe Chatsis Cree Hooping Dancer and The Culture Saves Lives Pow Wow Drummers

Joe Chatsis performing a hooping dance.
Here is 13 hoops in a formation of a bird.

Johnny Sam and the Culture Saves Lives Pow Wow Drummers getting warmed up with their first song.

After going through the hoops and weaving in and out Joe created these globes with the hoops. What a talent to share with us. Thank you Joe!

With Killarney pool in the background Joe is using the hoops and his body to create formations.

We were applauding Joe's Hooping Dance and then the Pow Wow Drummers said one more song...

Joe led us in one last dance called "the friendship circle" where we all held hand and stepped with our right foot and did a small jump and shuffled our left foot. We got pretty good momentum and staff and board members joined in too. It was a lovely way to end the outdoor event. We were all tired from the heat but had a fun time together.

Thank you for coming to the Art Carnivale and making it a special day at Killarney Community Centre for us all!

Fresh Roots Handmade Pizza and Fresh Pressed Cider

Fresh Roots brought their fresh ingredients and their pizza oven, and we were the lucky ones given the opportunity to create our own pizzas. Yum!!  And that's not all...they also brought in their hand press to crush up fresh fruits and make our own Fresh Pressed Cider from apples and strawberries, and other delicious fruits. This was a great learning experience and refreshing for this hot day! We want to thank Fresh Roots for their participation in the Art Carnivale at Killarney, and success with these delicious options at our event.
